Alan Crilley

Announcer & Panel Op

I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1949, the eldest of 5 children.  Emigrated to Levin, NZ in 1965. Spent 3 years at Horowhenua College then joined the NZPO, Wellington in 1968 as a technician. Trained  at Heretaunga Polytech and Canterbury University to gain NZCE and BE (Electrical).
in 1973 I married Diana and we have three children, Simon, Miscene and Tamsin.   I left Telecom in 1993 and with Diana and the girls we had two years in Saudi Arabia, leaving Simon at home to look after the house.
Returned to Wellington to work for Team Talk (a communications company) and in 1998 obtained a position with Norwegian Company, Norconsult, Spent the next 6 years as a cellular telephone network engineer in Vienna, Zurich, Bangkok, Manilla, KL and Jakarta.  I retired to Tauranga in 2004 and purchased Bethlehem Wine and Spirits in 2006 which we sold in 2014. Now fully retired in Otumoetai, where my mother, brother and Tasmin and families live.  Simon lives in Melbourne and Miscene in Montpellier, France.
Hobbies, I play golf, read, cryptic crosswords and play bridge on line, also spending quality time with grandkids, Poppy, Lilly and Jack.
