Volunteer Profile
Nigel Gregory
Announcer/Panel Op
My musical fascination was cemented as an 11 year old when I bought David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane album in 1973. I had no idea what he was saying, and still wonder if I understand some of those lyrics now!! From there I have listened and loved all sorts and especially loved the post-punk era in my late teens.
My journey to radio started late, studying at NZ School of Broadcasting in Christchurch from 1991. My radio career started at 1XX in Whakatane. I was a copywriter and dabbled in announcing. So I was very excited at the chance of joining Village radio recently. Without the constraints of commercial radio formats, it is a real joy to just play music and communicate to our audience. I am really grateful to Tony , George and the Team for giving me this opportunity.
